Splits
Due to yet another war, I did zero specific prep for this start — just running to and from work. Since my last race (February 27th) I’d barely touched anything faster than marathon pace. But general fitness and volume did their thing: knocked another minute off last year’s result.
Comparing the splits from both races, you can see I didn’t improve much on the uphill sections — which makes sense, since last year I was specifically training hills — but my overall endurance was clearly better, and that’s what carried me through.
| Km | 2025 | 2026 | Δ |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4:00 | 3:58 | −2с |
| 2 | 3:47 | 3:40 | −7с |
| 3 | 4:09 | 4:16 | +7с |
| 4 | 3:41 | 3:37 | −4с |
| 5 | 4:16 | 4:09 | −7с |

| 7 | 4:27 | 4:17 | −10с |
| 8 | 4:43 | 4:31 | −12с |
| 9 | 3:56 | 3:40 | −16с |
| 10 | 4:22 | 4:13 | −9с |
The original plan was to drop 6 seconds from each kilmeter, but that didn’t quite happen. First kilometer I only gained 2 seconds, and on the third I actually went slower. Panicked a little — but then settled in, found my rhythm, and things started clicking from there.
